Inquiry #1: 1. The roadway excavation and jointed plain concrete pavement don't seem to line up. How can you take 280CY more out then you put back?
2. Typically lean base concrete would be placed under the jointed plain concrete pavement, with the bond breaker between the sections. Are placing the bond breaker on the existing subgrade?

Inquiry #2: After reviewing plan page C-1 we some some issues. There does not seem to be a joint between lanes 1 & 2 (no tie bars).
1. Is it Caltrans intention to pour lanes 1&2 at the same time? If so, how do we accomplish this with lane closure chart G1 that specifies we must keep one lane open in each direction of travel?

In past WIM projects we pour one lane at a time and drill and bond in tie bars.
